He is an examiner with the Associated Board, works as an accompanist for concerts and competitions, and plays organ and harpsichord for the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Stephen read music at the then Napier College and the University of Edinburgh.
In June 2011 Stephen was appointed chorusmaster of the Belfast Philharmonic Orchestra.
St John's has three full-time stypendiary clergy - the Rector and Dean of Edinburgh John Armes, Associate Rector Donald Reid and Curate Shona Boardman. Further details of the clergy and lay team can found on the main church website.
St John's is fortunate to have two volunteer assistant organists, Peter Horsfall and Caroline Cradock, both who help out with rehearsals, accompanying and conducting.
